Benefits ... what we know

Research confirms what we know from our everyday experience…

  • Children between 3 – 8 years old are at the prime age for developing thought patterns that stay with them for life.
  • Talking about the good in everyday events and experiences helps children become better problem solvers, bounce back from disappointments and recover more quickly from trauma (1).
  • The expression of positive emotional attitudes in a young person’s life has a strong impact on the person’s longevity (2). The more optimistic a person is in his or her life, the longer life will be.
  • There is a universal tendency to learn positive words earlier in the acquisition of language and to more easily retain positive words (3). This tendency spans many cultures.
